A policeman was killed and another policeman was injured when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding car in Pune city of Pune, Maharashtra. Officials gave this information on Monday.

He said that the accident occurred near Harris Bridge in Khadki area late on Sunday night.

PC Shinde and Samadhan Koli, beat marshals of Khadki police station, were on patrolling duty near Harris Bridge when a speeding unknown car hit their vehicle from behind, a senior officer said.

"They both fell and the car driver fled the spot in his vehicle. Koli lost his life in the accident, while the other policeman was injured and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. We have deployed teams to nab the car driver. Have given." He said.
