Thane: A police jeep carrying some prisoners from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai's Taloja Central Jail collided with a private vehicle on Friday at Atal Setu, India's longest sea bridge. An officer gave this information.

An official of Khandeshwar police station in Panvel taluka of Raigad district said no one was injured in the accident which occurred around 4.45 pm.

He said, "A police team had taken four prisoners in a police vehicle to St George's Hospital in South Mumbai for treatment. While returning to Taloja jail, where they are lodged, the police jeep hit another vehicle from behind on Atal Setu. Killed." Said.

He said that both the vehicles were damaged in the accident, after which alternative arrangements were made to transport the prisoners.
