Kolkata: Kolkata Police took legal action against two users of micro-blogging site X for allegedly posting "offensive, hateful and inflammatory memes" about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a senior officer said on Tuesday. Have warned.

Police have warned that legal action will be taken against them.
"It has been observed that you are using social media to post objectionable, malicious and inflammatory posts. Cyber Police Station Kolkata issues notice against you under section 149 of CrPC for posting messages which violate the law and Can affect the state of the system. Police said in a notice to the operators.
"You are directed to remove the above mentioned post and refrain from such acts, failing which you will be liable for strict punitive action under relevant provision of law," it said.
Although the post has been removed by @Shalendervoice, @SoldierSaffron7 has retained the meme - a video of Banerjee created using artificial intelligence technology.
Condemning the police move, SoldierSaffron7 said in another post, "Those who say there is no democracy in India under BJP government should visit West Bengal sometime. So much freedom of speech in Bengal. Is!"
