Pune: Police have formed over a dozen teams comprising 100 personnel to look into various aspects of the wide-ranging investigation into the Porsche car crash case, in which a minor driver is allegedly involved, an official said.

Police have registered three separate cases after a car allegedly driven by a minor boy crushed two IT professionals traveling on a motorcycle in Kalyani Nagar area of ​​Maharashtra's Pune city on May 19.

The three cases include an FIR in connection with the accident and another against the bar that allegedly served liquor to the teen. Police have booked the boy's father, a builder, for allowing him to drive the car without a valid license. The third case involves the family wrongfully imprisoning the driver and forcing them to take the blame for the accident.Pune police chief Amitesh Kumar on Saturday said the police have so far arrested the boy's father, grandfather and his (teenager's) mother after confirming that the boy's blood samples were swapped with his own.

The other persons in police custody are two doctors and an employee of the government-run Sassoon General Hospital, who had allegedly swapped the blood samples of the minor boy.

Police have invoked provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Juvenile Justice Act, Motor Vehicles Act and Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused in the cases registered in connection with the incident.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade said, "To ensure that the investigation is conducted professionally and effectively, we have deployed multiple teams. Around 100 police personnel, including officers, are looking after various aspects of the case.,

The police have formed three teams of 8 to 10 personnel each to investigate the three registered cases, two teams for documentation to strengthen the cases, one team for monitoring CCTV footage, three teams for technical analysis and one team for field operations. Three teams have been formed for this. One team each has been assigned the task of taking the accused and talking to them.

“This multidisciplinary approach is aimed at covering all aspects of the investigation, ensuring thorough and careful handling of the case,” Balkawade said.

As part of the investigation, the police spoke to the minor for about an hour in the observation home, where he has been sent till June 5 in the presence of his mother.

However, an officer said, "They were not forthcoming during the investigation".
