Poonch [PoK], April 21 [ANI]: PoK-based human rights activist Amjad Ayub Mirza strongly condemned the arrest of a young Kashmiri woman, Shazia Haleem, in Poonch district of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and demanded her immediate release, Mirza Alleged that Shazia, an orphan, was the victim of sexual harassment by Sidhnoti district DSP Sardar Tariq Mehmood, due to which she was falsely arrested by the local police for misbehavior after refusing the DSP's advice, Nisar Shah, lawyer and member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan A legal support foundation has written to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan highlighting the grave injustice meted out to Shazia Haleem Nisar and claimed that the arrest and unlawful detention of Shazia is a worrying development, which is detrimental to her Represents a shameful violation of rights. Both Mirza and Shah immediately insisted on this. There is a need for an independent investigation into Shazia's allegations against DSP Sardar Tariq and the circumstances leading to her wrongful imprisonment. They demand that those responsible for making fabricated allegations against Shazia be held accountable. Immediate intervention in this matter is considered vital by activists, who claim their readiness for it. If prompt action is not taken to address this harassment then pursue justice by all available means.
