Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a public rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium in Srinagar around 12:00 noon, followed by another at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board sports complex in Katra at 3:00 p.m.

This will be the Prime Minister's first election rally in the Valley for the ongoing Assembly elections. Earlier, he addressed a BJP public meeting in Doda, Jammu, on September 14.

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has said that Prime Minister Modi's visit to J&K would be a "game changer".

Talking to reporters after visiting the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium on Wednesday, Chugh said, "People of J&K love the Prime Minister. We have seen in the past that whenever he visited J&K, a large number of people "Prime Minister Modi's visit will be a game-changer, rather it will be a milestone for the people of J&K."

J&K Police has adopted foolproof security measures in coordination with the Special Protection Group (SPG), responsible for the security of the Prime Minister.

An SPG team had reached Srinagar four days before Prime Minister Modi's visit to coordinate with the UT authorities on the details of protection of the VVIP protectee.

Located in the Ram Munshibagh area of ​​Srinagar, the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium can accommodate a large number of people, who the BJP hopes will come to hear Prime Minister Modi.

The passage of participants at the Srinagar venue will be regulated and police said some traffic diversions will also be in place to ensure the rally runs smoothly.

"For the Prime Minister's visit there is a detailed standard operating procedure governing such visit and we are following it to the smallest detail," the police said.

All high-rise buildings around the site will be taken over by security force snipers and electronic surveillance will be complemented by human security to ensure foolproof security.

The Prime Minister's visit comes a day after voting ends in the first phase of the three-phase J&K Assembly elections.
