NASHIK: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday alleged that the Congress wanted to allocate 15 per cent of the government budget for minorities during its previous rule and vowed not to allow budget sharing or reservation in jobs and education on the basis of religion. Chasm.

Addressing an election rally in support of Mahayuti candidates - Union ministers Bharti Pawar (BJP) and Hemant Godse (Shiv Sena) - at Pimpalgaon Baswant in north Maharashtra's Nashi district, the PM said it was dangerous to divide the budget on religious lines.

The star campaigner of BJP said that the chief architect of the Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was strictly against religion-based reservation in jobs and education.

Modi claimed that when Congress was in power at the Centre, it had planned to allocate 15 per cent of the total budget to minorities.

He said in the meeting, “When I was the Chief Minister (of Gujarat), Congress had brought this proposal.The BJP strongly opposed the move and hence it could not be implemented. But Congress wants to bring this proposal again."

PM said that Ambedkar was against religion-based quota, but Congress wants to snatch reservation rights of SC/ST/OBC and give it to Muslims.

The veteran BJP leader declared, "Modi is the watchman of the rights of the deprived sections of the society and he will never let the Congress snatch away their rights."

Modi said the current Lok Sabha elections are about electing a Prime Minister who will take strong decisions for the country.The PM said that in the last 10 years his government has provided free ration, water, electricity, houses and gas connections irrespective of religion.

“Welfare schemes are made for everyone,” he said.

Without naming NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, Modi said, "An Indian alliance leader from Maharashtra knows that Congress is losing badly (in the elections). Therefore, he has suggested that the smaller parties should merge with the Congress so that it can at least stand as a Congress.'' Opposition parties.,

He said, "When the duplicate Shiv Sena (referring to Sena UBT) merges with Congress, I will remember Balasaheb Thackeray because the late leader had dreamed of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and scrapping of Article 370."
