Later in the day, PM Modi is scheduled to attend an event at Buddha Jayanti Park.

The theme of World Environment Day is 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'.

With this theme, children will be asked to plant trees as well as take care of them. At home, children should be taught about global warming, marine pollution, ways to prevent it and how to save the earth.

Through this video, the Prime Minister wants to highlight the importance of trees and plants in our lives and give a message about it to the world.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) established World Environment Day at a conference in Stockholm in 1972. This day is being celebrated since 1974.
