New Delhi [India], Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be sworn in for a third consecutive term on June 9, sources said.

The Lok Sabha election results declared on June 4 saw the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) come to power for the third consecutive time.

Sources said that PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony may take place on June 9 at 6 pm.

Earlier there were speculations that the swearing-in ceremony of the new NDA government led by PM Modi will be held on Saturday.

There has been no official confirmation of the date of the swearing-in ceremony yet.

The leaders of the parties involved in the National Democratic Alliance met on Wednesday and elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader.

PM Modi later said that NDA will work towards building a developed India.
