Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a lively road show from Shyambazar Five Point Crossing in Kolkata on Tuesday ahead of the final phase of Lok Sabha elections.

The road show in support of BJP candidate Tapas Roy is scheduled to end at Shimla Street, where the ancestral residence of Swami Vivekananda is located.

Before the program, PM went to the residence of mother Sarada in Baghbazar and paid tribute to her.

He also paid homage to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the statue of him at Shyambaja Five Point Crossing.

He was accompanied by prominent leaders of West Bengal BJP including Sukant Majumdar and Suvendu Adhikari.

The road show started around 7:10 pm and will cover a distance of about two kilometres.

Modi stood atop a decorated vehicle, which was resplendent in saffron color and decorated with pictures of flowers, the PM and the BJP's election symbol lotus.

As the convoy passed through the bustling streets, Modi waved to the crowds gathered on both sides of the road.

Women supporters wearing saffron sarees also joined the Colourfu procession.

As the vehicle passed, slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar' echoed in the air and many onlookers captured the incident on their mobile phones.
