Una (Himachal Pradesh), Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as anti-people and said that he is misleading people in the name of religion to remain in power.

He said, "Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had given her jewelery for the country in its time of need and Modi says that Congress people will steal your Mangalsutra." He said that such language does not suit the Prime Minister of the country.

Addressing a public rally at Gagret in Himachal's Una district, he said Modi has started considering himself as God and thinks that he will get votes in the name of religion but people will not be misled.

Seeking support for Congress candidate Satpa Raizada from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat and Rakesh Kalia, candidate for Gagret by-assembly election, Gandhi said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is anti-people in general and anti-youth in particular.He also informed that Modi government has reduced the import duty on American apples.

Stepping up his attack on the Modi government, the senior Congress leader said the BJP-led Center did not have money for the disaster-hit people of Himachal Pradesh, but loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore of rich industrialists were waived off.

He said, during the worst monsoon disaster in the state last year, people got to see the difference between Congress and BJP, when every leader and worker of Congress was on the ground, while BJP was nowhere to be seen.

He said, "We work for you, not for power or money and feel it is our duty."

The BJP-led Center neither declared the monsoon disaster a national disaster nor gave any special package for the state, but tried to topple the democratically elected Congress government in the state by using the money, he said clearly. Said referring to the controversy related to six.Congress rebels who have recently joined BJP.
