PM said I post on X This year's Char Dham Yatra is starting with the reopening of Kedarnath Dham after being closed for six months.The first puja at the temple was held in the name of Prime Minister Modi early Friday, marking the beginning of the pilgrimage season, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presiding over the puja after the doors of Sri Kedarnath were opened. Dham Mandir welcomed all the devotees and prayed for a safe and fulfilling journey for all those going on Char Dham pilgrimage. Speaking to ANI on Friday, CM Dhami said, “Devotees and pilgrims from across the country and abroad wait for this pilgrimage every year. That holy day is in front of us today, when the doors of Kedarnath Dham have opened. A large number of devotees and pilgrims have reached here and all necessary arrangements have been made for them.I convey my best wishes to all of them. After the inauguration, the first puja at Kedarnath Dham was performed in the name of PM Modi. Since Narendra Modi became the PM, the darshan of God is happening in three phases. We are working to ensure that the project is completed as soon as possible. The doors were opened with rituals and chants after a gap of six months, which included the peak period of winter, as slogans of 'Har Har Mahadev' echoed through the crowd of devotees gathered for the ceremony. The abode of Lord Shiva was decorated with 40 quintals of petals, ahead of the formal inauguration of one of the country's most revered shrines dedicated to worship. The temple of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath attracts countless devotees and visitors from across the country and outside during the six months it remains open.The doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham were opened at 7 am for darshan of the Lord. Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri were opened on Friday on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, while the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on May 12. The temples at high altitude are closed for six months every year, opening in summer (April or May). The Char Dham Yatra, which concludes at the beginning of winter (October or November), holds deep spiritual significance in Hinduism. This journey usually takes place from April-May to October-November.It is believed that one should complete the Char Dham Yatra in a clockwise direction. Therefore, the pilgrimage starts from Yamunotri, moves towards Gangotri, stops at Kedarnath, and finally ends at Badrinath. The journey can be completed by road or air (helicopter services are available). According to the Uttarakhand Tourism official website, some devotees also undertake Do Dham Yatra or pilgrimage to the two temples, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
