Malé [Maldives], High Commission of India in Maldives appreciated the major development partnership project in Maldives – Greater Malé Connectivity Bridge.

The Greater Mail Connectivity Project is being implemented with an Indian grant and a concessional line of credit of US$500 million. It is funded through a US$400 million line of credit (LOC) and a US$100 million grant from India. GMCP is a transformative infrastructure project that will stimulate economic growth and improve the ease of living in the Maldives.

"Pleased to see the ground progress of the Greater Male Connectivity Bridge, India's flagship development partnership project in the Maldives," India posted on Twitter.

Maldives Minister for Works and Infrastructure, Abdulla Mutthalib and Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Munu Mahavar visited the Thilamale Bridge site, Greater Male Connectivity Bridge, to closely inspect the ongoing work.

"Today, Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muthathalib and High Commissioner of India to Maldives, Munu Mahavar, inspected the Thilamale Bridge site along with senior officials of the High Commission, senior officials of the Ministry and the technical team." Maldives' Ministry of Works and Infrastructure said in a post on Twitter.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed by representatives of AFCONS, one of the largest infrastructure construction companies in India, project consultant and contractor.
