Manchester City made history by becoming the first team in the 135-year-old history of English football to win the Premier League title for four consecutive seasons.

The 53-year-old gaffer won the prestigious award, beating Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa's Una Emery, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Bournemouth's Andoni Ierola.

“I want to share that, yes, oh yes! Especially with Mikel for the incredible job he did right up to the last game, bringing us to our limits.

Guardiola said, "Of course, for Jurgen, for many years of unforgettable battles. A Uni Emery, doing something incredible again to bring Aston Villa to the Champions League."

“And Andoni Ierola, with Bournemouth, his first season in the Premier League, did what he does best, coming back from a difficult start to the season,” added the Spaniard.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool were leading the title race against City, but the Merseyside-based team ultimately fell down the table. Arsenal maintained a narrow advantage of one point to their name before defeat against Aston Villa left them two points behind Manchester, a gap they held until the end of the season.

City's Phil Foden won the Premier League Player of the Season award for his impressive campaign, in which he scored 17 goals and eight assists.

Manchester City will play against their geographical rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final before the players go to training camp for the 2021 European Championship.
