Speaking to IANS, he said, “I have been visiting various constituencies in the state since the election dates were announced. People never talked to me about CAA, rather they are talking about development. The issues in the elections have changed due to the good governance of BJP.

Singhal also argued that the BJP's governance model has been accepted by all sections of the society.

“People of all castes and religions are supporting the BJP because of our governance model,” he said.

The opposition is alleging that the BJP government of Assam led by Himanta Biswa Sarma is doing many things like closing madrassas, conducting eviction drives in specific areas etc. to target a section of Muslims in the state.

The minister refuted the opposition's claims and said the state government has not discriminated against any section of the society.

“Our government aims to include everyone in beneficial schemes,” he said.

Meanwhile, Singhal also claimed that Gaurav Gogoi is not a challenge to BJ on the Jorhat Lok Sabha seat.

“Only a few people were talking about Gaurav Gogoi. I am traveling in Jorhat and other constituencies. Believe me, he cannot pose any challenge to BJP.

According to the minister, BJP candidate Tapan Gogoi is set to win by an easy margin in Jorhat.

Notably, Gogoi has changed his seat this time as his previous constituency Kaliabor was wiped out in the delimitation process.
