Bhubaneswar, with an eye on big gains for the BJP in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is seeing high intensity of anti-incumbency wave against the state's ruling Biju Janata Dal, making survival very difficult for the regional part. It has become difficult.

In the eastern state for another day of hectic election campaigning, Modi said in an interview late on Sunday that people have made up their mind about change in Odisha, where assembly elections are being held along with parliamentary elections.

While people will vote positively for the BJP to elect the government at the Centre, he said a section of the society will vote negatively for the state government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik due to the anti-incumbency wave.

"We will win the elections on the basis of people's trust. Even though we do not have any big face, we are the second largest party in the assembly," Modi said.We have also been at number two in the Lok Sabha. “My party has worked very hard to reach number one from number two in the last five years.”

He was responding to a question about BJP's chances against BJD as the party does not have a strong face like Patnaik, who has been in power since 2000.

The Prime Minister said, "I am seeing in my rallies that the intensity of negative sentiments against the state government is very high. That is why it is very difficult for the BJD to survive.,

Asked about alliance talks between the two parties before deciding to fight separately, the Prime Minister said the BJP had fought against the BJD in the 2014 and 2019 elections. He said, in the last elections people had supported BJP on a large scale.

While the BJD often extends its support to his government in Parliament on several issues, Modi said it is one of the many parties that support his government from time to time on issues of national importance.

“It is our commitment that the next Chief Minister of Odisha from BJP will be a son of this soil. After giving BJD more than two decades, the people of Odisha deserve a better alternative.,

In 2019, BJP's number of Lok Sabha seats in Odisha increased from one to eight in Odisha, which has 21 Lok Sabha seats.

This has emerged as the biggest challenge for BJD in state politics and the once powerful Congress is finding it difficult to fight it.
