KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited 25 former international cricketers for a meeting to discuss steps to reform the domestic cricket structure.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and other board officials will meet former legends on Monday to seek their views and suggestions.

The talks will discuss ways to reduce the gap in standards of Pakistan's domestic competitions and international cricket.

The meeting will also consider a comprehensive blueprint presented by another former player on the problems of the current cricket system in the country.

However, this is not the first time the PCB has undertaken such an exercise as the format of the domestic tournament has been an issue since 2018.

The first-class competition was reduced to just six teams when Imran Khan became prime minister, with the board reverting to the old system of departmental teams in the first-class format last year under Zaka Ashraf.

The meeting will also consider the domestic contracts given to around 360 cricketers across various formats in the country. or ung
