Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera on Tuesday said LoP Gandhi's forceful speech made the ruling party uncomfortable and uneasy as she held up a mirror to them and took them to task for projecting herself as a 'protector of the Hindu faith'.
He compared Rahul's first speech in the Lok Sabha with Swami Vivekananda's speech in Chicago years ago.
“Rahul Gandhi showed the mirror to those who call themselves protectors of Hinduism. When Rahul waved the poster of Lord Shiva, people on the other side got scared,” he said, adding that the Hindu faith symbolizes non-violence, truth and bravery.
Accusing the BJP of spreading hatred and violence in the name of religion, he said that he is frightened by Rahul Gandhi's lying on this issue and that is why BJP leaders are angry and agitated.
Khera further claimed that the BJP wants to shackle Hindu faith and ideology and warned against any such attempts, saying it is 'bigger than any individual and institution'.
“Hindu thought has courage, non-violence and truth. Like the river Ganga, this idea has also been flowing since time immemorial. This flow also contains the knowledge of the sages and also the story of the life struggle of our ancestors.”
In a video message, Khera asked, can one restrict the flow of river Ganga, can you put Hindu beliefs in shackles?
“This idea cannot be limited to any book, ritual, faith, religion etc. This idea is born from the life force of our earth.” The Congress leader said, we will not allow Hindu ideology to be captured in the narrow mindset of BJP.
