New Delhi: Three passengers of the Sasaram Intercity Express were killed on Friday evening when they jumped from the train on hearing a fire and were hit by a goods train on the adjacent track, officials said.
Divisional Railway Manager said that some passengers were injured in the incident that took place at Kumandih railway station of Dhanbad division at around 8 pm.
"Some mischievous elements spread a rumor that the train was on fire, leading to a stampede. Many passengers jumped from the train on the adjacent track. A goods train coming from the other direction ran over them. Three died. Went." ,
“Some of them have been injured,” he told JP over the phone.
