Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], BJP's Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Gautam said on Sunday that the karyakartas (workers) played a huge role in the party's victory on five Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Uttarakhand BJP unit organized a program to honor the BJP workers from the state who played an important role in the BJP's victory in five constituencies.

Dushyant Gautam said, "BJP workers worked very hard and played a huge role in BJP's victory on five Lok Sabha seats. This meeting is being held to thank them and to inform them about the upcoming programs."

He further said that the purpose of the meeting was also to discuss the upcoming by-elections in the state.

The BJP emerged victorious for the third consecutive time in all five Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttarakhand, including Tehri, Haridwar, Nainital and Almora.

In the 2014 and 2019 general elections, the BJP registered clean sweeps in the state.

The victory margin crossed 1.5 lakh votes on all seats, with the highest margin of 3.3 lakh votes recorded in Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency, where sitting MP Ajay Bhatt was defeated by Congress candidate Prakash Joshi (4.3 lakh votes). In comparison, 7.7 lakh votes were received.Bhatt had earlier defeated Congress leader Harish Rawat in the 2019 elections by a margin of 3.4 lakh votes.

Former Chief Minister and BJP candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat won the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat of Uttarakhand.

According to ECI data, Rawat defeated Congress's Virendra Rawat by 164056 votes. BJP candidate got 653808 votes while Congress candidate got 479752 votes. Independent candidate Umesh Kumar journalist got 91188 votes.

BJP candidate from Tehri, Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah won her fourth consecutive victory from this constituency. Shah defeated Congress's Jot Singh Gunsola by 2.7 lakh votes.

Voting for all five seats was held in a single phase on April 19.
