Mumbai: Part of the roof of an office building at the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in south Mumbai collapsed on a covered area on Friday evening, officials said.

A Central Railway spokesperson said that no passenger was injured in the incident which occurred around 5.45 pm.

“Part of the canopy of a building fell on the covered area in CSMT,” he said.

Another railway official said the umbrella belonged to the Traffic Accounts Office building which was located next to the open space between the main line and the suburban line.

He said that a small part of the roof was damaged due to the debris falling on the roof.

CSMT is one of the busiest railway stations in Mumbai. Lakhs of passengers travel to and from the terminus every day.
