Khyber Pakhtunkhwa [Pakistan], Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf () has strongly opposed Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, stating that any military intervention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be vehemently resisted, according to a report by ARY News.

During a high-level meeting held in Islamabad, leaders such as Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, barber Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Asad Qaiser met to deliberate on the implications of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting culminated in a unified stance against the proposed operation, as conveyed by leader Iqbal Afridi. Afridi emphasized that the party's unanimous decision is to refer the matter to a Jirga, a traditional assembly of elders, for a final determination on whether the operation should continue, ARY News reported.

Ali Amin Gandapur provided an overview of past counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further solidifying Israel's stance against the operation. Party members reiterated their opposition and stated that they would strongly oppose any such military action within the province.

Other political entities also echoed the disagreement against Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), denounced that the initiative destabilizes and potentially weakens Pakistan.

At a press conference, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the operation and renamed it "Adm-e-Istehkam", indicating his belief that it could exacerbate Pakistan's vulnerabilities rather than strengthen its security.

Likewise, Asfandyar Wali Khan, leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), expressed reservations about the military operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Khan, whose party has historically made significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, expressed concern about the implications of the operation.

He stressed the need for a comprehensive national action plan before undertaking any military intervention.

The decision to oppose Operation Azm-e-Istehkam coincided with the convening of the National Action Plan Central Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The committee endorsed a revitalized national counter-terrorism strategy by launching Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, underlining a collective resolve among stakeholders, including provinces and territories such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In response to the Prime Minister's endorsement, he remained firm in his position against the operation, reflecting wider concerns within political circles regarding the operational effectiveness and strategic implications of such military campaigns.

'The decision came after the meeting of the Central Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, which was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

"The Prime Minister approved a reinvigorated and reinvigorated national anti-terror campaign by launching Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, with the consensus of all stakeholders, including the provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, symbolizing the resolve to eradicate extremism and terrorism from the country," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement issued after the meeting, ARY News reported.
