ISLAMABAD [Pakistan]: Pakistan's Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture and National Heritage, Ataullah Tarar, on Sunday said that general elections will be held only after the expiry of the constitutional term of the present government, ARY News reported.

His reaction came after Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman in a press conference rejected the elections held on February 8 and called for fresh elections in Pakistan.

According to Tarar, considering the current situation, Parliament is the right place to do politics.

“The solution to all problems in politics lies in dialogue and negotiation,” the minister said.

Describing Fazlur Rehman as an "experienced" and "respected" politician, he urged the Maulana to recognize the administration's economic policies, which have led to an increase in foreign exchange reserves and an all-time high on the stock exchange, ARY News reported. Has reached.

Fazlur Rehman called for fresh general elections in Pakistan earlier in the day, dismissing the results of the February 8 vote as "unacceptable".

They insisted that the elections held on 8 February were not transparent and that the government had "no power" to resolve their complaints.

Fazlur Rehman insisted that new elections be held using an open system and that citizens be given the ability to vote once again.

He also raised the recently passed resolution by the US Congress on elections in Pakistan and claimed that it casts doubt on the validity of the surveys.

He questioned whether the passing of this resolution was a diplomatic failure.
