New Delhi, Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd on Tuesday reported a 6.45 per cent decline in profit after tax at Rs 154.37 crore for the third quarter ended March 2024 due to one-time tax impact.

The company, which follows the July-June financial year, had reported a profit after tax of Rs 165.02 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

However, operating revenue of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd (PGHH) increased by 13.48 per cent to Rs 1,002.17 crore during the quarter under review. A year ago it was at Rs 883.09 crore.

Its profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 154.37 crore was "down 6 per cent over the previous year due to base as well as one-time tax impact in the current quarters", said the income statement of the company, which owns popular brands Is. Vicks in health care and Whisper in feminine care.

However, its PAT "grew by 50 per cent operationally by product-value miles and productivity interventions", it added.

The total expenditure of PGHH in the March quarter stood at Rs 781.82 crore, which is 3.97 per cent higher than the same period a year ago.

Its total income, which also includes other income, rose 13.17 per cent to Rs 1,015.76 crore in the March quarter.

"Despite a challenging operating environment, we have achieved strong top-line growth, driven by superior product offerings that are delighting consumers and meeting their evolving needs," said LV Vaidyanathan, Managing Director, PGHH.

Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd closed at R16,059.10 on the BSE on Tuesday, down 0.81 per cent from its previous close.
