Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi won from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency by a margin of 3,38,087 votes.

Owaisi got 6,61,981 votes and defeated BJP's Madhavi Lata, who got 3,23,894 votes.

During a press conference, Owaisi expressed gratitude to the people for giving his party a "historic success".

“I want to thank the people because they have given success to the Majlis for the fifth time. I want to thank the people of Hyderabad, especially the youth, women and first-time voters who have given a historic success to the AIMIM party,” Owaisi said. Said.

This was the first time that the BJP had fielded a woman candidate from the Hyderabad constituency.

Out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, BJP has won three seats and is leading in five. Congress has won two seats and is currently leading on six.

Meanwhile, as per the latest trends, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is leading on 290 seats, while the India Bloc is leading on 235 seats, indicating a significant gain for the latter.

Congress, which won only 52 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, is currently leading on 99 seats, while BJP is leading on 239 seats.

The BJP had won a majority on its own in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, winning 282 seats in 2014, and improving its seat tally to 303 in the 2019 elections.

Aiming to win 370 seats in the 2024 general elections, the BJP-led NDA under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive time. The elections were held in seven phases from 19 April to 1 June.
