New Delhi: The overall pass percentage of Class 10 students in NDMC and Navyug schools is 98.61 percent and that of Class 12 students is 98.68 percent, New Delhi Municipal Council vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay said on Wednesday.

Upadhyay said that this year's academic results have been exceptional and reflect the quality of education in NDMC schools.

"The overall pass percentage for Class 10 students in NDMC and Navayug schools is 98.61 per cent, while for Class 12 students it is 98.68 per cent. These results are a testament to the efforts of both to provide high quality education with equal opportunities to the students. Underlining the dedication of the council, Upadhyay was quoted as saying in a statement at Atal Adarsh ​​and Navyug School.He stressed the commitment of NDMC to maintain the student-to-teacher ratio in all schools as per the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines. It said 28,022 students have enrolled this year with a target of reaching 31,000 (up 8 percent to 10 percent) by the end of the year.

The statement said that special campaigns are being run to increase the enrollment of girl students.

The statement further said that at present, 1,027 teachers are employed against the total of 1,320 vacancies.

It said that 533 CCTV cameras have been installed in 45 schools.It said a total of 81 pre-loaded tablets have been distributed to Class 10 and 12 students in the four schools, with an additional 6,181 tablets in the procurement process.

The process of upgrading computer laboratories in 29 secondary and higher secondary schools is underway.

It said that a total of 433 smart classrooms for classes 6 to 12 are operational, with an additional 346 smart classrooms at the primary level being included in the tender process.

Upadhyay said that NDMC is also committed to the holistic development of students through various extra-curricular activities. A total of 525 students are receiving coaching in 10 different sports, the statement said, for which 24 part-time sports coaches are employed.
