Srinagar: The number of pilgrims visiting Lord Shiva at the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir crossed the 1.30 lakh mark on Thursday, officials said.

"Around 25,000 pilgrims traveled on Thursday and had darshan of Baba Bholenath on the sixth day of the annual yatra," officials said.

The number of pilgrims who have reached the 3,880 meter high cave temple now stands at 1,30,260, he said.

Officials said those who visited the cave temple included 16,667 male pilgrims, 5,367 female pilgrims, 520 sadhus and two sadhus.

Over 2,000 security forces, seven transgenders and 354 children also made the pilgrimage.

According to officials, there have been two deaths in this year's yatra - a sevadar from Haryana and a pilgrim from Jharkhand. Both the deceased had suffered cardiac arrest on Baltal road in June.

The 52-day pilgrimage will end on August 19.

Last year more than 4.5 lakh pilgrims visited the cave temple.
