Dimapur (Nagaland) [India], Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sunep C Jamir on Wednesday expressed confidence that his alliance will win Nagaland, saying his mission is to win the elections by a huge margin. "We have one Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland. The elections are to be conducted by our alliance partner NTPP. It has been confirmed that our alliance will win in Nagaland. What we are focusing on now is: more on the margin. How much more We have to win the elections with a margin, this is our mission now,” Jamir told ANI, adding that all the MLAs have come together to make our alliance candidate win the elections. “We are in the true spirit of We are working day and night as per the alliance, we have activated all our party workers for voting in Nagaland. We are united to support this candidate of our alliance partner, Chumben Moore and Bharat (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) candidate Supongmaren Jamir. The decision will be taken in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 19. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had visited Kohima in January this year as part of his Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra. Lok Sabha elections to elect 543 Members of Parliament are scheduled to begin on April 19. Nagaland, located in the north-eastern region of India, is the only Lok Sabha constituency in the state. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDPP-BJP alliance achieved a significant victory over the Indian National Congress and emerged as the winner. Nagalan parliamentary constituency, the only Lok Sabha seat in the state, is unreserved. Political leaders have also been mentioning efforts to resolve the Nag political issue.
