He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his life to the country.He is the only Prime Minister in the country who has not taken leave in 10 years."

NDA ally JDU leader KC Tyagi also made a similar statement, saying, "The opposition parties have misused the 400-plus slogan raised by us by associating it with changing the Constitution."

Notably, during the Lok Sabha election campaign the BJP used the slogan 'Abki Baar 400 Paar' to appeal to voters for a mandate that would help the party garner more than 400 seats in the 543-seat Lok Sabha.

The BJP won 240 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, which is less than its previous tally of 303 seats in the 2019 elections.

In Maharashtra, the BJP's overall performance saw a decline compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when it got nine seats compared to 23 in 2019.The total strength of Maha Vikas Aghadi was 17, with Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) (Ajit Pawar) having seven and one respectively.

Congress, on the other hand, marginally improved its seat share by gaining 13 seats in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has secured a third term, with the support of other parties in the alliance, mainly Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) and Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP.

After counting of votes cast in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP fell 32 seats short of the majority mark of 272. For the first time since the BJP came to power in 2014, it did not get a majority on its own.
