MVA MLAs comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) gathered outside the House carrying posters and banners and raised slogans targeting the ruling grand alliance government of Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party-Nationalist Congress Party.

Leader of Opposition (Assembly) Vijay Wadettiwar and (Council) Ambadas Danve and most of the MVA MLAs strongly demanded immediate relief to farmers through complete loan waiver and steps to deal with the drought-like situation due to indifference of monsoon. and provision of food, water and fodder to cultivators.

Criticizing the Mahayuti, he raised slogans like "40 per cent government, woe is you", "Ministers are happy, farmers are unhappy" and said that they will not rest in peace until the loans of farmers are completely waived off.

Buoyed by its stellar performance in the recent Lok Sabha 2024 elections when the MVA allies jointly secured 31 out of 48 seats, the aggressive allies plan to corner the government on various key issues.

These include the deteriorating law and order situation in the wake of the Pune Porsche car accident and drugs rave party, CET exam scam, NEET-UG paper leak issue spreading to Maharashtra and other scams.

This will be the last session of the current 14th Assembly, whose tenure is set to end in October when the next state elections are likely to be held, worrying both the ruling party and the opposition as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
