Jaipur: A man sitting on the footpath near a flyover here was crushed to death by a speeding SUV. Police gave this information on Wednesday.

According to the police, the incident took place near Trivan flyover on Tuesday night.

A speeding SUV hit two people sitting on the footpath. Police station in-charge (Jaipu South) Subhash Chand said that they were taken to the hospital where one of them, Pappu Gurjar, died.

"It was a black Scorpio vehicle that hit the people. CCTV footage is being examined to identify the vehicle and its driver," he said.

After post-mortem the body was handed over to the family. Further investigation is underway, he said.
