Pune: A 41-year-old man died after his motorcycle skidded and was crushed by a luxury car coming from behind in Yerwada area of ​​Pune city on Tuesday. Police gave this information.

He said that the accident happened at around 12.30 pm on Golf Course Road.

A senior police officer said that the deceased Kedar Chavan worked as a delivery man in a logistics firm.

He said, "He was going on his motorcycle when the vehicle suddenly slipped and was crushed by a Mercedes-Benz car coming from behind. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment."

The officer said that the Mercedes car belonged to a doctor, but it was being driven by his driver at the time of the accident.

CCTV footage of the accident shows the motorcycle skidding and the luxury car running over it soon after.

He said that the police is trying to find out how the motorcycle suddenly slipped.

"The CCTV footage shows that the motorcycle was not hit by the car (before running over it). But we are still confirming how the bike suddenly skidded," the officer said.

He said that the process of registering a case against the car driver is underway.

Pune city had witnessed a fatal accident a month ago on May 19, in which two IT professionals were killed in Kalyani Nagar area when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche car, allegedly driven by a minor. Was driving in an intoxicated state.

The case created a national uproar after the Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the accused on very lenient conditions including writing a 300-word essay on road safety.
