The deceased was identified as Harshit Yadav, 23, a resident of Faizullaganj, who worked at a gas filling warehouse located in a house in Rajajipuram D-Block.

Police are investigating whether the warehouse was being run illegally. The owner of the warehouse is absconding.

According to ACP Dharmendra Singh Raghuvanshi, initial investigation revealed that the company had a license. He said, "Investigation will also be done regarding safety standards."

Harshit Yadav was in the warehouse on Thursday evening when the fire extinguisher exploded and he was seriously injured.

Police said he was later taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The family members of the deceased have accused the company owner of working illegally.

“Safety standards were ignored and they used to refill expired cylinders in the warehouse and sell them in the market,” Yadav's brother Gyanendra said.
