New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was beaten to death by his brother for allegedly misbehaving with a woman near slum Dera Ghazi Khan area in outer Delhi. Police gave this information on Wednesday.

He said that the accused Prince (18) was arrested when he was trying to flee the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Jimmy Chiram said that on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, the police control room of Mongol Puri police station received information from a hospital that a man had been beaten and admitted to the health facility.

The incident took place in slum Dera Ghazi Khan area.

The victim, Neeraj, was not in a position to give a statement, but his brother Suraj told the police that Prince had beaten him with a baseball bat, he said, adding that later, the hospital informed the police that Neeraj had died.

Chiram said the case was registered on the statement of Neeraj's brother and BNS sections related to murder were added after his death.

Police traced Prince to an area near Delhi Cantonment after analyzing footage from CCTV cameras and mobile phone surveillance. He was trying to escape to his native village in Dosa, Rajasthan.

DCP Chiram said, "On sustained interrogation, the accused revealed that Neeraj had misbehaved with his sister a few days ago. He beat Neeraj to death with a baseball bat."
