Thane: In Thane district of Maharashtra, police have arrested a 22-year-old man by seizing Mephedrone drug worth Rs 8.25 lakh from his possession. An official gave this information on Monday.
After receiving a tip-off, Crime Branch officials laid a trap near a hospital on Khandupada Road on Friday evening and caught the man. Shantinagar police station officer said that 165 grams of drugs were found with him.
A case was registered against the accused on Saturday under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, while the search for another person in this connection is ongoing, he said.
The officer said that the police is trying to find out from where the accused bought the drugs and to whom he wanted to sell it.
