Mumbai: A man has been booked for using a drone without permission to shoot video of a cricket tournament held in Mumbai's Dharavi, a police officer said on Saturday.

Shahunagar police station official said the tournament named Dharavi Premier League was organized at the RPF ground on Friday and the drone flight was spotted by a resident and alerted the police.

"The man was asked by the tournament organizers to shoot video and take photographs of the event. However, without official permission, he flew a drone for the purpose. He was booked under section 188 of the IPC for disobeying an official order. A case has been registered against him." Notice has been served but no arrest has been made,” the officer said.

Mumbai Police had recently issued an order to ban flying drones in the city.
