Gaya (Bihar) [India], On the auspicious occasion of the 2,568th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, a grand procession was taken out on Thursday morning in Bodh Gaya, the land of knowledge in Gaya district of Bihar state, in which thousands of devotees participated. People from different states and countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Tibet, Myanmar, Vietnam and Bhutan gathered for this grand event. The attraction point of the procession was the devotees carrying the Panchsheel flag and chanting the slogan 'Buddham Sharanam Gachhami', celebrating the birth anniversary as well as the triple birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. The day is significant as it marks three important events: the birth of Lord Buddha, his attainment of enlightenment, and his Mahaparinirvana, all of which are believed to have occurred on Vaishakha Purnima. A large crowd had gathered on both sides of the roads to watch the Gran procession. Traveled through various locations before concluding at the World Heritage Site Mahabodhi Temple. The journey started near the impressive 80 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha. Speaking to ANI, Bhante Aryapal, a Buddhist monk and one of the participants in the Gran procession, said, "Today we are celebrating the 2,568th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha." On the occasion of Trividh Jayanti, Vaishakh Purnima, he was born, attained Mahaparinirvana, which is not possible for any ordinary person. We are also celebrating Trividh Jayanti.
