North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) [India], West Bengal BJP President Dr. Sukant Majumdar on Thursday met party workers affected by post-poll violence in North 24 Parganas.

He alleged that people carrying TMC flags attacked his party workers and looted their houses.

He said, "Our party workers were attacked and their houses looted. Money and jewelery were looted. I was also attacked by people carrying TMC flags.,

He said that he will meet the District Superintendent of Police and give information about these cases.

Earlier, West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday wrote to Governor CV Anand Bose expressing concern over the alleged role of All India Trinamool Congress in the post-poll violence and asking him to take steps to prevent a recurrence of the situation after the elections in 2021. In a letter to the West Bengal Governor, BJP leader Adhikari said that after the declaration of 2024 parliamentary general election results on June 4, "goons of the ruling government" have "gone crazy on BJP workers" in West Bengal.

“As West Bengal is now synonymous with the state, the ruling party goons have gone mad at the BJP workers after the announcement of the results of the Parliamentary General Elections, 2024, scheduled for June 4, 2024,” the official said. Said."This appears to be a repeat of the incidents that took place in Bengal after the announcement of the 2021 assembly election results, which resulted in the death of several BJP workers," he said.

The officer further alleged that, the Central Armed Paramilitary forces deployed after the elections are not being used to control the worsening situation where the ruling party goons are targeting BJP workers.
