He said this in Mysuru to the media while reacting to his alleged involvement in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam.

"Everyone is upset that despite being from a backward class, I became Chief Minister for a second term...they are burning and hatching a conspiracy," said CM Siddaramaiah, who described the allegations against him as political .

When asked about the protest organized by the BJP against the MUDA land scam in his native Mysuru, CM Siddaramaiah said, “We have ordered an inquiry. The BJP is taking up the issue politically. We will also address it politically.”

Responding to a question about BJP state chief B.Y. At Vijayendra's protest in Mysuru, the CM said, “Let BJP national president J.P. Nadda, do it too. If they do, we will surely address it politically as well. We also know how to counter it politically.”

CM Siddaramaiah further said that those who file charges must explain where the illegal activities have taken place. “I claim it as legal when they claim it as illegal. They have to prove it and prove it. Before conversion, it was agricultural land. The conversion happened in 2005, the DC converted it and I have no connection. Mallikarjunaswamy is my brother-in-law and he has gifted him to me legally. Where is the illegality?”

"Suppose it is mentioned as agricultural land, even if it is developed in a layout, is it a big crime?" CM Siddaramaiah said.

“Until 2010, after the reconversion, it was farmland until it was given away. Later in 2014, it was illegally acquired by MUDA and sites were formed and distributed. Should I let it go? Compensation has been requested. They have not searched for him in a specific location. The BJP was in power in 2021. The allocation was done during the BJP government and now they are raising an issue,” said CM Siddaramaiah.

“In a similar case, one Sundaramma approached the high court on this matter. The court fined MUDA Rs 1 lakh and ordered authorities to grant land. If the mistake was committed during the BJP government, who is responsible for it? We hadn't asked for it. When his government was in power, how was Siddaramaiah responsible then? he said.

“They are highlighting my claim to get compensation of Rs 62 million. According to the rules, now the amount of compensation must be three times higher,” he stated.

Responding to a question about social activist T.J. On Abraham's complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI) in this regard, CM Siddaramaiah said that whenever the Commission seeks clarification, he is ready to give answers.

T.J. Abraham, president of the Karnataka Environment and Anti-Corruption Forum, has appealed to the ECI to initiate proceedings against the Chief Minister by filing a criminal complaint and also to take necessary action under Section 125 A and Section 8 of the Representation of People Act and under sections 227, 229, 231 and 236 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for submitting a false affidavit, along with nomination papers during the 2013 Assembly elections, to uphold the law.

The Chief Minister is facing allegations of forging documents related to a 3.16-acre plot of land in the name of his wife and fraudulently obtaining 14 sites worth Rs 2 crore each allotted by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA ). The state BJP is demanding his resignation and will stage a large-scale protest in Mysuru on Friday.
