After a poor performance in the series opener, the Indian batsmen displayed their attacking prowess, with Abhishek scoring a century in 46 balls while Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 77 to take the team to 234/2 in 20 overs.

In reply, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar took three wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets as the hosts were bowled out for 134 runs in 18.4 overs.

"Very happy, it feels great to be back on the winning track once again. The way Abhishek and Rutu batted, especially in the powerplay, the ball was moving, it was not easy, but Abhi and Rutu batted brilliantly. Yesterday, this was what Gill said after the match, more about not being able to handle the pressure because it is a young team and many of them are new to international exposure.

Gill admitted that he was under pressure after losing the first match of the series but was confident in his ability to bounce back.

"It was really good to have the pressure in the first game and we knew what to expect in this game. We still have three games to play and we are looking forward to them. It's always good to have more options rather than no options ,” the opening batsman said.

The third T20 match between India and Zimbabwe will be played on Wednesday.
