Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Former Paralympic Committee of India chief Deepa Malik is confident that the Indian contingent will improve its ranking at the Tokyo Paralympics in Paris.

With the Paralympics starting in Paris on August 28, the Indian contingent is gearing up to create history.

Last time, India had won 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, finishing 23rd overall in the country-wise medal tally.

Dipa feels that increasing facilities and investment, as well as globalization, will naturally translate into team performance in medal-winning efforts.

“The way the facilities are improving, the awareness is increasing, and the way funding programs are increasing.Awareness has increased in the media. Globalization is increasing, and it is increasing in India. This is my new India, and whenever opportunities increase, facilities also increase." It will naturally translate into medals, Dipa told ANI. I want that the level we reached last time should be doubled this time.,

He talked about watching the India vs Sri Lanka wheelchair bilateral match. The Indian team achieved its fifth consecutive win over Sri Lanka on Sunday and won the series 5-0.

Throughout the series, the Indian team defeated Sri Lanka with its remarkable efforts. Deepa Malik expressed her happiness over the team's performance and revealed the factors that led to the growth.

“I am very happy to be here because I, along with Abhay Pratap, Ravi Chauhan and the DCCI, have seen wheelchair cricket grow.I appreciate their hard work to create a platform where people can come and play cricket in wheelchairs. Cricket as a game is the heartbeat of every Indian fan, and why should a disabled person be deprived of it, when we talk about people in wheelchairs who cannot get out of their homes or are dependent on others, and when You give them international facilities and play a series? "It's a mainstream sport, so it's a great thing for me as a disabled athlete to see and experience it," Dipa told ANI.

"I have seen these players grow, become responsible and raise the level of the game. I wish them every success and would like to thank the Noida authorities as well as PM Modi for naming 'Divyang' , which has promoted potential beyond disability. Every person wants to get rid of their disability and be a part of 'Fit India' and surely, there is no better platform than sports.,

The Indian team finished the series with a resounding 194-run win over Sri Lanka in the 5th T20 match.
