Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra Minister Abdul Sattar on Thursday, while explaining the defeat of Union Minister Raosaheb Danve from Jalna Lok Sabha seat, claimed that some Shiv Sena supporters were dissatisfied with not getting support from the BJP during the last assembly elections.

Danve, who was the BJP MP from Jalgaon since 1999, had lost to Congress's Kalyan Kale in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the results of which were declared on June 4.

Speaking to Marathi news channel ABP Majha in Sillod, Sattar said, "We did not get the same help (from ally BJP) in the assembly elections. So, some of my workers were dissatisfied. So they did not work for Danve. During this time In a meeting, we told Danve about BJP not getting votes during the assembly elections.

Sattar said that he had also spoken to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde about this discontent and had also instructed his supporters to help Danve.

"I tried to help Danve with all my heart, but the difference (in vote numbers) is not only in Sillod (which is Sattar's stronghold) but also in Bhokardan, where the MLA is his son. There he got Rs 1.5 lakh. There has been a loss of votes. Danve did not get votes. Sattar claimed that when one is a Union Minister, it is natural to some extent to contact the people, but he is not able to maintain public contact while performing party duties.

The Maharashtra minister also said that people were also opposing the MIDC scheme in Jalna and the Rs 3600 crore railway project for the area could not be started, hurting Danve's prospects.
