Jeypore (Odisha): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's close aide and senior leader K Pandian on Thursday launched a scathing attack on opposition BJP and Congress leaders, accusing them of opposing the Odisha government's welfare scheme and politicizing development works.

Addressing two election rallies held in Pottani and Lakshmipur assembly constituencies under Koraput parliamentary constituency, Pandian highlighted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's commitment to the welfare of 4.5 crore citizens of Odisha.

He launched the campaign a day after Patnaik launched the ruling BJD's election campaign in Hinjili in Ganjam district.

Without naming anyone directly, Pandian hit out at Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and accused him of opposing the state's flagship Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), which provides Rs 5 lakh for each beneficiary and the woman beneficiary.
