Nayagarh (Odisha), Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said Odisha lost 25 years of development under the 25-year BJD rule in the state, during which various sectors like healthcare, education and infrastructure were derailed.

Addressing an election rally in Nayagarh, Shah also sought clarification from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the missing keys of the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple.

“Odisha is the most prosperous state in the country, but the people of the state are poor. If you want to get rid of this, you will have to vote for (Narendra) Modi and make him the PM again. You gave 25 years to Naveen Babu, but the state lost 2 years of development,” he said at the public meeting.

“Odisha's healthcare, education system and infrastructure derailed under BJD rule; Only PM Modi can bring them back on track.

Shah also said that after coming to power, the BJP government would punish those responsible for the disappearance of the Ratna Bhandar keys.

“I want to ask Naveen Babu where are the keys of Ratna Bhandar and why did he not make public the Judicial Commission report (on the missing keys)?” The Home Minister said.
