District Election Officer (DEO) Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat attended the vote awareness program organized by the District Election Authority at the historic Ghanta Ghar under Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), a flagship program of the Election Commission. India encourages all eligible citizens to vote and make informed decisions during elections.
To mark the occasion, a group of local artistes presented a theme-based 'Nukka Natak'. A large number of school students also participated in the voting awareness program.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatt said that the program aims to enhance the understanding of voting related processes and promote electoral literacy especially among first-time voters.
"The DEO emphasized that this initiative reflects the commitment of the district administration to strengthen the democratic system to motivate young voters towards the electoral process and empower citizens," an official statement said.
