New Delhi, State-owned NTPC on Monday reported a 15 per cent year-on-year increase in coal production from captive mines to 9.862 metric million tonnes (MMT) during the quarter ending June 2024.

NTPC has registered a growth of 17.15 per cent in coal dispatch from its captive mines to 10.194 MMT during Q1FY25, a company statement said.

"To achieve sustained growth in coal production, NTPC has implemented several strategies and technologies. This significant growth in coal production and dispatch is a testament to NTPC's dedication towards operational excellence and its contribution in meeting India's energy demands. Is."

NTPC, under the Ministry of Power, is India's largest power generation company.
