New Delhi: The CBI on Friday arrested a senior manager of corporate communications at India's thermal power giant NTPC for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh to pass a bill, officials said.

The agency arrested Vijay Kumar, senior manager, corporate communications, NTPC, in Mumbai, where he had come from Delhi to take illegal bribe, he said.

It was reported that the vice president of an advertising company had filed a complaint against Kumar for allegedly demanding bribe to pass bills worth around Rs 40 lakh.
