New Delhi, National School of Drama along with Delhi Tourism and Development Corporation will organize 'Rang Amlan', a drama festival and workshop for children, at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti at Rajghat here from Saturday, the school announced theater on Friday.

While the 10-day "demonstration-oriented" workshop will be held from June 22 to July 1, a theater festival featuring six children's plays will be held starting June 26.

A total of 150 children will participate in the theater workshop, selected from 250 candidates.

"The workshop aims to grow the body and mind of children through the theater method. It will not only help them grow physically and emotionally, but also integrate them with the neighborhood and society in a more meaningful way," NSD said in a statement. .

Participating children, divided into five groups of 30, will learn different aspects of theater in the workshop that will culminate in five demonstrations on July 2 at the NSD facility.

Talking about the participation of children in the workshop and festival, NSD director Chittaranjan Tripathy said that he helps a wider section of the society become familiar with theatre.

"When children are introduced to theater, their parents and families are directly involved, and people in the neighborhood are indirectly informed. Through these children, people get to know about theater who did not know about it before," said Tripathy, addressing the live media. Bombay video.

He added that theater combines different art forms, including music, dance, fine arts and costumes.

"The more people come to this art, the more our culture will grow," said the actor and director.

The theater festival will present "Tichi Tita To To Turu" on June 26, "Par Hume Khelna Hai" on June 27, "Malyang Ki Kuchi" on June 28, "Go Green" on June 29, "Jungle Me Bagh Nacha" on June 30 and "Kahan Kho Gaya Bachpan" on July 1.

The drama school will also organize for the first time a summer theater festival in Leh, Ladakh, with four plays by NSD Repertory Company, starting June 26 with a production of 'Laila Majnun'.

The summer theater festival will end on June 30 with 'Taj Mahal Ka Tender'.
