Noida: The Noida Police on Thursday conducted extensive foot patrolling in mixed populated areas of Sector 1 ahead of the upcoming Tajiya procession and cautioned people against believing or spreading misinformation.

According to an official statement, the foot patrolling led by Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra was part of the directive of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh.

The traditional Tajiya procession, which is part of the observance of Muharram, involves large gatherings and mourners carrying replicas of the martyr's tomb.

"ADCP Noida Manish Kumar Mishra, along with the police force, carried out foot patrolling in mixed populated areas under the jurisdiction of Sector 1. The patrolling included inspection of designated sites for Tajiya procession in Noida area," police said.

Police have urged residents to celebrate peacefully and avoid spreading or believing misleading information.

"Directions were issued to increase traffic flow, install barricades to check suspicious vehicles and effectively curb road crimes," the statement said.

Additionally, police units were directed to ensure that all PCR and PRV vehicles continue to actively patrol and that suspicious persons are thoroughly screened, the statement said.
