The authority has also suggested changes in working timings for workers engaged in construction work at private sites during the peak summer season.

In view of the rise in temperature, the working timings for employees engaged in development and maintenance work of civil, water, horticulture and power departments will be from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm, the Noida Authority said in a statement. Said. statement.

"Working timings for sanitation workers in the Public Health Department will be from 6 am to 12 noon," it said.

It also suggested similar changes in working timings for employees and laborers working on builder projects and other private construction works under the authority area.

The Noida Authority further said that it is setting up a night shelter with a capacity of 50 to 60 people at Noida Stadium in Sector 21A to save the destitute people from the heat.

According to the statement, this shelter will have facilities like water coolers and will be fully functional from May 30.

It said the authority is installing green nets at main intersections of the city to protect two-wheeler drivers from the scorching sun while waiting at traffic signals.

It is extremely hot in Noida and its surrounding areas including Delhi and the mercury has crossed 45 degrees Celsius.
